Position Highlights Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
The Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and coordination of the Wound Care, Diabetes Education, and Nutrition Services clinics at Spencer Hospital This role includes, but is not limited to, performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties such as reception, data tracking, general office support, filing, billing, managing phone communications, and scheduling or rescheduling appointments for both new and existing patients across the departments Assists patients and support personnel who present to the department in a friendly consistent manner Responsible for utilizing various applications within the electronic health record to support the provision of quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations Provides patient transportation at times of need from main entrance to department Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Prior education or work experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred Familiarity with medical insurance processes and terminology preferred Proficient with technology, including computers, phones, and tablets Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both direct and indirect interactions Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail Collaborative team player with a positive and proactive attitude
Schedule:
