Job Description

About us Gem State Dermatology is seeking a dedicated and organized Call Center Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires proficiency in various medical software systems and a strong understanding of medical terminology, ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. Medical office experience is preferred, but not required. The call center receptionist is responsible for answering phones, scheduling patients, and managing other administrative tasks including verifying that all demographic information is updated. The receptionist must also notify all patients of our billing and privacy policies as well as obtain required signatures on forms. The candidate must also constantly strive to maintain standards of excellence. Minimum Job Requirements Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent Previous medical office experience is preferred Essential Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work as a team member Essential computer skills, including use of EMR's Manage multiple tasks simultaneously Highly motivated and organized Empathetic with patients needs and concerns Excel under pressure Attention to detail Treat patients and co-workers with respect. Work closely with others in the Billing Department to complete patient financial obligations Key Duties and Responsibilities Greet everyone in a pleasant and professional manner. Review patient records to verify and update demographic information, insurance coverage and past due balances Verify insurance eligibility and network status Ensure proper authorization or referrals have been obtained Scan insurance and photo ID card(s) Update/create documentation on encounter forms to communicate with others in the billing department. Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been received, completed, updated and signatures obtained Track patients in the reception area and communicate as needed Perform additional duties as required. Assist co-workers as needed. Adhere to Standards of Service Excellence. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace The position is 5 days a week, 8 hours per day..
