Medical Receptionist

We are a busy specialty practice seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our front-office team. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet and check in patients; manage patient flow and appointment scheduling Answer phones and route calls appropriately Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations as needed Process copays, post payments, and reconcile daily collections Prepare and scan patient documents; maintain accurate medical records Coordinate referrals and communicate with hospital staff and external providers Support clinical and billing staff with administrative tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or medical office certification a plus Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical or healthcare office setting preferred Insurance billing and coding experience strongly preferred Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (Athena, Epic, or similar preferred) Familiarity with Microsoft office Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality (HIPAA)
