This role focuses on scheduling, patient communication, and insurance follow-ups.
Schedule Thursday:
10:00 AM - 3:00PM Saturday:
8:00/8:30 AM - 3:00PM Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
~3 hours/day (insurance collection, patient calls, and follow-ups) We're looking for someone organized, reliable, and comfortable communicating with patients. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly atmosphere that encourages trust and comfort Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software (OpenDental) Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting co-pays and updating patient records Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management Assist with billing and collections by processing payments, posting charges, and following up on outstanding balances Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately Support clinical staff by preparing patient documentation, reviewing medical histories, and coordinating care plans Handle filing of medical records, documentation review, and ensure all patient information is up-to-date and secure Use computer skills to navigate EMR systems such as Meditech or eClinicalWorks efficiently for data entry and retrieval Qualifications Prior experience in a dental office Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing practices Proficiency with dental practice management software like OpenDental Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, data entry, and document review Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards to ensure confidentiality and compliance Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with health information systems Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy office environment while maintaining attention to detail Exceptional phone etiquette skills combined with professional demeanor during intake procedures and appointment schedulingPay:
