Minimum 3 days/week for approximately one month What We Are Looking For Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent 2-3 years of experience, preferably in a healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of medical terminology Experience in a Breast Center, Radiology, or outpatient setting preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Typing proficiency of 50-60 WPM preferred Computer literate with experience using: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Multiple databases and software systems Fax machine operation Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment What You Will Do As a key member of the Breast Care Center team, you will help ensure timely coordination of patient care and department operations through administrative and workflow support. Administrative & Reporting Support Process Penrad letters and reports accurately and in a timely manner Auto-commit Penrad reports throughout the day Print, verify, and distribute patient and physician correspondence Maintain strict patient confidentiality File and organize reports and documentation Fax reports to non-staff physicians Imaging & Workflow Coordination Support timely reading of mammography exams Assist with preparation and organization of films for digitizing Coordinate retrieval and return of outside films and update logs Arrange imaging and requisitions per radiologist direction Patient Flow & Department Operations Answer phones professionally according to Advocate standards Facilitate patient flow within the Breast Care Center Assist physicians and teammates as needed Distribute incoming mail and correspondence Order & Documentation Management Follow up with patient or physician offices to ensure accurate and timely orders Track outstanding vs. received orders Document issues or discrepancies appropriately Utilize systems to locate and verify orders System Utilization Maintain working knowledge of: Allegra, Penrad, Radnet Care Connection, Scheduling.com, Lawson Microsoft Office tools Ensure pathology reports are available Supplies & Scheduling Maintain department supply levels via Lawson and dietary services Schedule callback patients per radiologist request Adjust daily schedules to support patient and department needs Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints Prolonged use of computers Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance Use of patient handling equipment and team assistance when needed Being Part of Something Bigger At Advocate Health, your work matters—to patients, teammates, and the communities we serve.
