Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing a wide range of administrative duties. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help streamline clinic operations, support medical staff, and provide exceptional patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting where your skills in medical administrative support, billing, scheduling, and EMR systems will make a meaningful impact on patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and phone etiquette. Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as ECW. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including intake documentation review and updating electronic health records (EHR systems). Handle multi-line phone systems promptly, answering inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Maintain accurate medical records by filing, scanning, and updating electronic or paper files in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with billing procedures including medical collection efforts, collecting balances, copays. Support clinic operations by managing appointment reminders, confirming patient details, and coordinating with healthcare providers. Ensure compliance with health information management standards and assist in documentation review for accuracy. Perform office management tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining office supplies.
Requirements:
Prior experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare front desk role within a clinic or dental office setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines is required. Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and collection processes is highly desirable. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) are necessary for daily documentation and communication tasks. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy. Previous clinic or hospital experience that demonstrates familiarity with healthcare workflows will be advantageous.
