Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background in medical administrative support, and familiarity with dental terminology and office management systems. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate medical records. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure a smooth patient experience and efficient office operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at all times. Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Verify insurance benefits and coverage, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers, ensuring proper documentation review. Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or similar platforms. Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Assist with insurance verification, intake procedures, and processing of patient forms while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to promote efficient clinic operations. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic flow and accurate documentation review related to care plans and medical coding. Experience Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is required; clinic experience is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9/10
coding systems for accurate billing and documentation review. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar dental practice management software is essential. Knowledge of health information management standards including HIPAA compliance is mandatory. Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Experience with insurance verification processes, medical billing procedures, and office management tasks will be considered an asset.
