The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional administrative support and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures. Bilingual abilities and prior clinic or dental office experience are highly valued to enhance patient service and office efficiency. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes with professionalism and courtesy Schedule appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures accurately Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy Handle multi-line phone systems, respond to patient inquiries, and maintain excellent phone etiquette Assist with medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage medical records filing, data entry, and maintain organized documentation in electronic health record systems like eClinicalWorks or Eaglesoft Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans or follow-up appointments Support front desk operations including intake procedures, appointment reminders, and general clerical tasks such as typing reports and managing office supplies Ensure compliance with health information management standards and confidentiality protocols Requirements Proven experience in a medical office environment, including front desk or administrative support roles in clinics or dental offices Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms Knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures including
ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT
coding, Medicare guidelines, and insurance processing Strong understanding of medical terminology across various specialties including dental terminology if applicable Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10-key), and office management software Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Bilingual proficiency is preferred to assist diverse patient populations Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable to ensure familiarity with healthcare workflows and documentation standards This role offers an opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through efficient administrative support while working in a professional healthcare environment.
