  • Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice.
The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and billing procedures. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and delivering exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or EMR/EHR platforms Collect payments, process billing, and manage medical collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain accurate patient records including medical history, treatment plans, and documentation review Handle multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and appointment requests Manage patient intake forms, update electronic health records (EHR), and ensure confidentiality of health information Assist with front desk administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and document organization Support office management activities including insurance verification, billing procedures, and coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and maintain knowledge of dental terminology and office policies Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations Requirements Proven experience as a Medical or Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role; dental office experience is highly preferred Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is advantageous Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD), insurance verification, and health information management practices Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (including 10 key typing) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required; clinic experience is preferred but not mandatory This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing outstanding patient care.
