Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures, and proficiency with Athena Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule patient appointments efficiently using Athenahealth EHR platform. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, to facilitate accurate billing processes. Collect and process payments related to medical collections and billing, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain and update patient records accurately within electronic health record system. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical terminology. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and effective phone etiquette. Support medical office management by handling filing, data entry, and administrative support tasks efficiently. Assist with medical scheduling, intake procedures, and care plan documentation to streamline clinic workflows. Ensure confidentiality of health information in accordance with HIPAA standards while managing sensitive patient data. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role within a clinical setting is required. Demonstrated familiarity with EMR/EHR system Athenahealth is essential. Knowledge of medical billing processes including insurance verification, Medicare claims, and collections is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and documentation review practices is necessary. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy office environment with excellent organizational skills. Bilingual abilities are preferred to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Experience working in dental clinics or hospital settings enhances suitability for this role.

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
