Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller and part time Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors while managing accurate medical billing processes. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth office operations, efficient coding, and timely reimbursement for services rendered. Responsibilities Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and update medical records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Prepare and submit detailed medical claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10 diagnosis codes to ensure proper reimbursement Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), follow up on unpaid claims, and perform effective medical collections to optimize revenue flow Maintain comprehensive medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with privacy regulations and coding standards Assist with billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and communicate clearly with insurance providers and patients alike Stay current with updates in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance policies to uphold accuracy in all billing activities Greet patients warmly, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments with enthusiasm and professionalism - will be a backup to main receptionist Experience Proven experience in medical office administration with a focus on billing processes Familiarity with medical coding including CPT and ICD-10 coding systems Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and insurance claim procedures helpful Hands-on experience working with EMR systems for documentation and billing purposes - experience with Epic EMR preferred Ability to navigate complex insurance policies and perform effective follow-up on unpaid claims Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling sensitive patient information Prior experience in a healthcare setting that involves medical collection efforts is highly desirable
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
