Job Description Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Looking for a supportive, high-paced, friendly work environment with a chance to make a real difference in Indianapolis? Gennesaret Free Clinics is seeking a full-time Dental Clinic Receptionist. The Dental Clinic Receptionist serves as the first line of contact for patients seeking services from the GFC Dental Clinic. This role is responsible for treating each interaction with utmost professionalism and care. This role ensures that patients are directed to appropriate resources promptly and advocates to see that their needs are met. Gennesaret Free Clinics has a 38-year history of serving individuals experiencing homelessness, those without medical insurance and the medically underserved, providing them access to high-quality, compassionate, and FREE healthcare.
Receptionist Duties:
Greet all callers, patients, visitors, and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner Ensure patients in the waiting room during clinic are properly escorted to and from the building entrance and the bathroom, and do not wander the halls Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accuracy of patient information and medical records in the organization's Electronic Medical Record Schedule dental appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently Send appointment reminders to patients for dental appointments Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate personnel promptly Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area. Restock supplies as needed. Assist in administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and handling dental donations. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and address patient needs Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines
Patient Assistance:
Guide patients to other services within Gennesaret and to partners of Gennesaret.
Patient Services Team:
To ensure timely communication, attend all required meetings at the direction of the Assistant Director of Patient Services. Dental Clinic Receptionist will be assigned to other clinical locations based on the needs of the organization when the Dental Clinic is closed.
Cleaning/Ordering:
Clean and sanitize the common areas Sanitize guest chairs in the waiting room frequently Clean/sanitize doorknobs and counters frequently Keep floors swept Keep surfaces dusted Water plants as needed Order supplies as directed by
Dental Staff Other Job Duties:
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Patient Services You are a good candidate for this position if you are/have/can: Valid Driver's License (Required) Reliable Transportation (Required) Commitment to the mission of Gennesaret Free Clinics Ability to work independently to achieve organizational goals Ability to stay positive while problem-solving barriers to success Able to work under pressure Flexible Good at building and developing relationships Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of services Proven experience and competence with technology Strong professional presence Strong communication and listening skills Excitement and passion about working in support of providing medical services to the underserved Desire to enhance existing skills and develop new skills necessary for the role Elevated awareness of issues of social equity and social justice with a commitment to continued learning as it relates to serving and elevating diverse communities in a manner that is respectful and aware Experience in Customer Service Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee/member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: This position will primarily be an indoor position, but there will be times when the position requires comfort working in outdoor environments. This position is very active and frequently requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. While performing the duties of this job, the employee/member is regularly required to communicate with individuals who talk and hear. The employee/member may occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee/member is regularly required to observe and comprehend using vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
