Details Essential Job Duties:
Provides assistance for Medical Group patients in obtaining prior authorizations for referrals, outpatient procedures, medications and admissions using established requirements. Assists patients, office staff, and outside sources in a cooperative and courteous manner. Maintains accurate files of referral information. Enters authorizations into Medical Group computer system. Assists patients and office staff in providing accurate information regarding plan specific benefits. Works with Medical Group office personnel to ensure proper filing of claims. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Education, Training & Experience Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse in good standing preferred. Functional grasp of standard written and verbal English. Knowledge of precertification requirements. Knowledge of medical terminology. Courteous, cooperative attitude. Written and verbal communication skills. Basic keyboard knowledge.
