Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills will help facilitate efficient clinic operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while maintaining a well-organized medical office environment. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures using EMR systems. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection and medical billing tasks. Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate follow-up care plans. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and managing appointment rescheduling. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review. Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, file medical records securely, and manage clerical tasks such as data entry and typing with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Assist with intake procedures, document review, and ensure accurate CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for billing purposes. Requirements Experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role with clinic or dental clinic experience preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems a plus. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and insurance verification processes preferred but not mandatory. Computer skills necessary. Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards with discretion and professionalism. Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette and communication abilities. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing accuracy.
