Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist and be the welcoming face of our medical practice! Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system Tebra. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification to facilitate smooth billing processes Collect and process payments, including medical collections, while maintaining accurate financial records Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and needed consents. Maintain organized medical records, files, and electronic health information management (EHR systems) . Assist with medical scheduling, intake procedures, and updating patient information to support care plans and overall clinic operations Requirements Proven experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Tebra, Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred Knowledge of some medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and insurance verification processes Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and 10-key typing capabilities Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior Mental health clinic or Medical office experience is desirable; familiarity with Mental health terminology is advantageous Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a growing environment while maintaining attention to detail This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to quality healthcare delivery through exceptional administrative support.
