Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist/Dental Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle insurance verification, and support administrative functions to ensure smooth clinic operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and billing procedures. Bilingual abilities and prior dental office experience are highly valued to provide exceptional patient service and efficient clinic management. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Verify insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and handle billing using Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth software Collect payments, process co-pays, and perform medical collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain accurate patient records, update medical histories, and review documentation for completeness Assist with patient intake procedures including data entry and verifying personal information Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries promptly, and provide excellent patient service Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing medical records and managing office supplies Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including
HIPAA, ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards, CPT coding, and documentation review Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans and treatment instructions Perform clerical duties such as typing reports, maintaining filing systems, and managing office correspondence Skills Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and insurance processes including Medicare verification Experience with medical billing, collections, insurance verification, and health information management Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Exceptional phone etiquette with multi-line phone system handling capabilities Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior dental clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations Outstanding customer service skills combined with professional appearance and demeanor This role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a professional healthcare team dedicated to providing quality patient care through efficient administrative support.Job Type:
