Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, streamline clinic operations, and ensure accurate documentation. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as ECW, Epic. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes efficiently. Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate follow-up visits. Maintain and update patient records, including filing, data entry, and reviewing documentation for accuracy. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages. Support administrative tasks such as filing medical records, managing office supplies, and assisting with clinic management duties. Skills Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administrative support, including front desk operations. Proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with health information management systems. Exceptional patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information following HIPAA guidelines. Clinic experience in a healthcare setting—hospital or dental clinic experience—is preferred to understand workflow and patient care procedures. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate medical records management and appointment scheduling. Effective communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette to foster positive patient interactions.
