Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Office Coordinator-Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for patient service, and a strong background in medical administrative support. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records with precision and professionalism. Your proactive approach will help foster a positive patient experience and support the clinical team effectively. Duties Greet patients warmly and handle all front desk responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate documentation review and data entry Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately Maintain organized medical records, dental charts, and billing documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with insurance claims processing, medical billing, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare documentation review Support clinic operations by managing supply inventory, filing documents, and coordinating patient intake procedures Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers Skills Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and health information management Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills including 10 key typing for efficient data entry Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately using systems like Athenahealth or Meditech while adhering to HIPAA standards Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with office workflows and documentation standards Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, and maintaining medical records in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling and billing purposes Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by providing exceptional administrative support in a friendly and energetic environment.
