Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient experience from the moment they walk through our doors. Your expertise in medical administrative support, insurance verification, and dental terminology will help streamline daily operations and enhance patient satisfaction. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency Schedule appointments using dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal clinic flow Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private plans, to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle medical collections with accuracy and confidentiality Maintain comprehensive medical records by updating patient information within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 codes, and care plans Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and handle appointment rescheduling or inquiries promptly Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history forms and explaining treatment procedures to patients Support office management tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and maintaining organized dental records Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times Skills Proven experience in dental office environments or clinics with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical billing practices Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; familiarity with Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable Expertise in insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid claims submission Skilled in medical coding (CPT codes), ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and documentation review for accurate billing Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications; ability to navigate multiple software platforms efficiently Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor; capable of handling patient inquiries with professionalism and care Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Office management experience including front desk operations, medical scheduling, filing systems, and multi-line phone handling Knowledge of health information management standards such as HIPAA compliance ensures confidentiality at all times Ability to perform typing at 10-key speed for efficient data entry; familiarity with dental practice management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances workflow efficiency Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting your professional growth.
