Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energy and organizational skills will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure smooth communication between patients and medical staff. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment while supporting efficient clinic workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through exceptional administrative support and attention to detail. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes Schedule appointments accurately using Athenahealth EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical billing processes including collection of payments Manage patient records with meticulous attention to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries promptly and routing calls appropriately Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, billing documents, and other administrative files using office management software like Microsoft Office Skills Experience with EMR/EHR system such as , Athenahealth for scheduling, documentation review, and record management Proficiency in medical billing collections processes with a focus on accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Prior clinic office experience is highly desirable to navigate specialized workflows efficiently Competent computer skills including typing (10-key), Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with health information management software Ability to handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling with precision Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Full or Part time positions available; one evening per week and one Saturday per month required. This role is paid in accordance with industry standards for administrative positions within healthcare settings.
