Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and directing calls appropriately. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes. Manage medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality. Assist with medical billing and collection activities, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and processing payments. Support front desk operations by managing patient check-in/out procedures, filing documents, and maintaining organized office files. Use computer skills to update patient information, schedule follow-up visits, and support clinic management tasks using software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix when applicable. Maintain a professional environment by practicing excellent phone etiquette and providing outstanding patient service throughout every interaction. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix; experience with Eaglesoft is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation accurately and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Exceptional communication skills—bilingual abilities are a valuable asset for serving diverse patient populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for data entry and record management. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Previous experience in medical office management or front desk responsibilities within a healthcare setting is desirable. Ability to handle high-volume phone calls with professionalism while maintaining a positive attitude.
