In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be essential in maintaining efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing front desk operations Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as AdvancedMD or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and documentation review Collect and process patient information accurately, including intake forms and medical history updates Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately Maintain and update patient records within EMR, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with coordinating appointments with other facilities Patient outreach after their visit Handle filing of medical records, manage documentation review processes, and ensure data integrity across health information management systems Support clinic operations by managing appointment reminders, patient follow-ups, and care plan documentation Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing processes, insurance verification procedures and HIPAA compliance standards Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software Exceptional patient service skills with strong phone etiquette and communication abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Prior clinic experience is highly desirable; familiarity with family medicine is a plus Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Join our team to help deliver compassionate care while supporting the operational excellence of our healthcare facility.
