The practice provides comprehensive women's healthcare in a professional and welcoming environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, medical office experience, and a passion for delivering excellent patient service. As a Medical Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, medical records, insurance verification, and ensuring smooth clinic operations while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional front desk service and phone etiquette. Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Meditech. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and billing processes, including medical billing and collection efforts. Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures, including documentation review and updating medical records in systems like Athenahealth or Dentrix. Assist with patient intake, data entry, and maintaining accurate medical records in various EHR platforms. Handle multi-line phone systems efficiently, responding to inquiries with professionalism and clarity. Support administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized office files. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and documentation review processes. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans, appointment scheduling, and clinic flow management. Utilize computer skills to operate office equipment like Eaglesoft or Dentrix effectively for dental or medical office management. Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinical setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and insurance verification processes. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management. Excellent communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation. Prior clinic experience is required. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
