Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors alike. In this vital role, you will manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records with precision and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a busy dental clinic while honing your administrative and clinical support skills. Duties Greet patients warmly, answer multi-line phone systems, and handle patient intake with excellent phone etiquette. Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Manage medical records, update patient information, and review documentation for accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with billing processes including medical collection efforts, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare claims submission. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and dental charts while ensuring confidentiality at all times. Support front desk operations by managing office supplies, filing paperwork, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure seamless clinic operations. Skills Proven experience in dental or medical office administration with familiarity using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and health information management standards including HIPAA compliance. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive patient interactions professionally. Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems. Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform billing tasks related to medical billing and collections. Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations effectively. Excellent organizational skills with experience managing appointment scheduling, documentation review, and office management tasks in a fast-paced environment.
