Yes Essential Functions:
Schedules patient appointments to ensure good access to care for patients with proper patient/therapist case mix. Collects and processes copays and payments for services offered at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Registers patients verifying appropriate demographic and insurance information. Maintains clean and welcoming reception and waiting area. Processes paperwork and clinical documentation in a timely and efficient manner so that communication between physicians and clinic assures safe and effective delivery of care. Checks insurance authorization for treatment and communicates benefits to patients and staff. Assure and confirm billing accuracy and works with coding/medical records to supply necessary records including copying, scanning, filing. Maintains excellent working relationships with business office peers, clinicians and various referral source offices. Demonstrates a high level of customer service when working directly with patients, physicians and medical departments. Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed. Work in a fast paced medical office environment. Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload.
Skills Abilities:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels. Ability to complete competency for CPR/First Aid. Ability to perform simple mathematical equations. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective oral and written communication skills. Microsoft Office competence with Word, Excel, Internet and E-mail. Knowledge of operation of phone, copier, fax and printer. Excellent customer service and organizational skills. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors. Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
CPR Certification within 6 months of hire and kept current. High school graduate or equivalent. Must adhere to NRMC appearance and attire policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a medical office setting preferred. Computer experience preferred. NRMC is adhering to the CMS Omnibus
