Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help streamline clinic operations, support patient care, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Schedule patient appointments accurately and manage clinic calendars with proficiency in medical scheduling software. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using knowledge of health insurance policies including Medicare and HIPAA compliance standards Collect and review medical documentation, ensuring accuracy in CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and proper documentation review for billing purposes Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; respond promptly to patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately Maintain organized medical records, ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies, and manage electronic health records (EHR) management efficiently Support medical administrative functions such as filing, data entry, billing support, and office management tasks to promote smooth clinic operations Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health information management, and electronic health record (EHR) systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms Familiarity with medical billing processes, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, insurance verification, and Medicare procedures Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per minute is desirable Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems and maintain professional communication at all times Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Office management experience including clerical support tasks such as filing and data entry is advantageous Join our team where your enthusiasm for healthcare administration can make a real difference!
