Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires proficiency in medical office management systems, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology, billing, and documentation review. The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive front desk experience Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures Collect payments and process medical billing using appropriate CPT and ICD coding standards Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries Maintain organized filing of medical records and office documents Facilitate intake processes including patient registration and data entry with high accuracy through typing and computer skills Assist with medical office management tasks such as appointment reminders, care plan documentation, and follow-up scheduling Support clinic operations by managing front desk activities, including handling inquiries related to Medicare, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, dental terminology (if applicable), and health information management systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft Experience Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment preferred, especially in clinics or dental offices Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is highly desirable Familiarity with medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification, and documentation review processes Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via multi-line phones and in person Proficiency in GSuite (Sheets,Docs) and basic computer skills including typing (10 key typing) Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Experience working in private practice, hospital, or dental clinic settings is advantageous This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing quality patient care through efficient administrative support.
