We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ophthalmology Surgical Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between patients, surgeons, and clinical staff, ensuring smooth surgical workflows and exceptional patient care. This role requires Ophthalmology experience , proficiency in medical administrative support, and familiarity with EMR systems. Excellent communication to facilitate efficient surgical procedures within a fast-paced ophthalmology practice. Duties include, but are not limited to : The Surgical Coordinator will manage scheduling, documentation review, insurance verification, and patient communication to facilitate efficient surgical procedures within a fast-paced ophthalmology practice Coordinate surgical scheduling and prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate Review medical records and clinical documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations Verify insurance coverage, including Medicare and other third-party payers Assist with preoperative preparations including intake procedures, patient education on care plans, and post-surgical instructions Manage patient data entry using Microsoft Office applications and perform accurate typing of medical notes and CPT/ICD coding for billing purposes Facilitate communication between patients and providers via multi-line phone systems while maintaining excellent phone etiquette Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all administrative processes Support front desk operations, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, filing, and managing medical records Collaborate with clinical staff to review documentation for accuracy and completeness before surgery Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing patient inquiries professionally and efficiently Creating a functional and successful workplace through punctuality and attendance
