Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk / Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic physical therapy clinic. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing all front office operations. Your proactive approach will help streamline patient intake, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical record management. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures Schedule appointments accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization, and handle insurance verification processes including Medicare, commercial insurances like Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care Collect and review patient documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy for medical records and billing purposes Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and efficiently Maintain organized medical records, files, and documentation review processes in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with billing tasks such as medical collection follow-ups, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical billing procedures using EMR systems. Support clinic operations by handling clerical tasks including filing, data entry, typing, and utilizing Microsoft Office tools for reports and correspondence Coordinate with Physical Therapists to facilitate care plans, intake procedures, and documentation review for smooth clinic workflows Work closely with the billing team to resolve insurance, authorization, and patient account issues Follow up with patients regarding appointments, scheduling changes, insurance requirements, balances, and missed visits Work closely with the billing team to resolve insurance, authorization, and patient account issues Support day-to-day clinic operations and maintain organized workflows Help maintain a welcoming, compassionate, and professional clinic environment Support clinic marketing and community engagement efforts when needed Skills Excellent English communication skills (phone, in-person, and written/email) Strong people skills and professional personality Highly organized and detail-oriented Ability to multitask in a busy outpatient clinic environment Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and healthcare documentation standards Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and records management Experience in medical office management or front desk support within a clinical or dental setting is highly desirable Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with health information management software Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while maintaining confidentiality Bilingual capabilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic experience or medical administrative support experience is preferred to ensure seamless integration into our team Preferred Physical therapy clinic experience preferred Spanish and or Hindi/Gujrati speaking is a plus Why Join Our Team? Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
