Job Description
Description We are looking for a Medical Front Desk Specialist to support daily patient-facing operations in a busy healthcare setting in New Jersey. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming experience while keeping front office activities organized and efficient. The person in this role will help coordinate appointments, manage intake tasks, and assist with basic patient preparation to keep the office running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients upon arrival, confirm appointment details, and guide them through the check-in process.
- Coordinate and update the daily appointment schedule to support smooth patient flow throughout the office.
- Obtain insurance information, verify documentation, and collect required copayments at the time of service.
- Distribute intake and consent forms, answer routine questions, and ensure completed paperwork is gathered accurately.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and record basic measurements such as height and weight before the visit.
- Maintain organized front desk records and collect reports or supporting documents needed for patient visits.
- Respond to general reception needs, including directing inquiries and supporting day-to-day administrative tasks. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical front desk, healthcare reception, or similar patient-facing office role.
- Practical experience scheduling patients and managing appointment calendars in a clinical environment.
- Ability to perform patient check-in duties accurately while maintaining a detail-oriented and welcoming demeanor.
- Familiarity with collecting insurance details and processing patient copayments.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology used in a healthcare office setting.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills for a fast-paced front office environment.
