Who We Are Berkeley Heights Eye Group in New Providence, New Jersey, is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice led by Todd Leventhal, MD. Dr. Leventhal and his team offer individualized, patient-centered eye care in a family-oriented environment to patients living in and around Union County. In addition to comprehensive eye exams and routine prescriptions for glasses and contacts, the team at Berkeley Heights Eye Group provides expert care for a range of eye conditions, including dry eye, floaters, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. As a skilled surgeon with access to state-of-the-art equipment and updated ophthalmic testing, Dr. Leventhal and the team at Berkeley Heights Eye Group also perform advanced procedures like LASIK, laser eye surgery, and specialty lens implants. Dr. Leventhal and his team are proud to provide care that fosters long-term relationships with their patients. They conduct thorough consultations with each patient, ensuring that they understand their condition and how it affects them so that they can make the best decisions about treatment as a team. Who You Are The Medical Receptionist is responsible for creating a positive patient experience from the moment patients enter the office or call for assistance. This role manages appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification support, phone communications, and administrative tasks while maintaining accurate records within practice management and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. What You'll Do Essential Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner. Answer and direct incoming phone calls while providing exceptional customer service. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and update patient appointments. Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately. Collect and maintain patient demographic, insurance, and contact information. Verify insurance information and assist with front desk insurance-related processes. Maintain accurate records within the practice management system and EMR. Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff. Respond to routine patient inquiries regarding appointments, office procedures, and scheduling. Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception area. Assist with additional administrative and clerical duties as needed. What You Bring Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software systems. Professional demeanor and positive attitude. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Preferred Previous receptionist, front desk, or customer service experience. Experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or ophthalmology practice. Familiarity with EMR systems and practice management software. Knowledge of patient registration and insurance verification processes. Pay Rate:
$24-$27 per hour #INDSS
