Role:
The Medical Front Desk Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for patients and visitors within a healthcare facility, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience from the moment of arrival. This role is critical in managing patient flow by accurately scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. The specialist facilitates clear communication between patients and medical staff, addressing inquiries and coordinating administrative tasks to support clinical operations. By meticulously handling patient registration and data entry, the specialist contributes to the accuracy and integrity of patient information, which is essential for quality care delivery. Ultimately, this position supports the overall functionality of the healthcare environment by combining administrative expertise with compassionate patient interaction to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience working in a medical front desk or administrative role within a healthcare setting. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and appointment scheduling software. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific EMR platforms Familiarity with health insurance plans, appointment scheduling, and provider speciality Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, explaining benefits and co-pay requirements as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in all interactions and record-keeping. Accurately enter and update patient demographic and medical information in EMR systems. Answer incoming phone calls professionally, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls appropriately. Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely access to care. Process patient registration paperwork and collect necessary documentation and payments. Manage front desk operations, including organizing patient files and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Multiple Shifts Available. This is a full time position of 40 hrs a week. Shifts vary from 7:30am to 6:30 pm, Monday thru Friday. Closed all major holidays.
