Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to provide essential administrative support within a busy healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of medical office procedures, and proficiency with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and excellent patient service. The Medical Secretary will work with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient scheduling and record management. This position is a full time Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm position. We have three office locations in Burnt Hills, Clifton Park, and Saratoga Springs. You will work primarily between of the offices with the third being on occasion. Responsibilities Manage patient appointments by scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming visits using systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Prepare and review medical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain electronic health records (EHR) using systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix, ensuring proper documentation review and data entry. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and follow-up appointments. Perform general clerical duties such as typing reports, managing files, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications for documentation purposes. Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while handling sensitive health information. Requirements Proven experience working as a Medical Secretary or in a similar medical administrative role within a clinical setting. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Eaglesoft is essential. Strong understanding of health information management practices including documentation review and prior authorization processes. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication capabilities. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
