Full Job Description Front Desk Medical Receptionist Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour (negotiable commensurate with certification and experience)

In person Overview Umbrella Health is a physician-owned multispecialty practice in Manhattan seeking a dedicated and organized front desk professional to join our team. You'll serve as the first point of contact for our patients while providing exceptional customer service and supporting the smooth operation of a fast-paced, growing practice. Candidates who also bring medical assistant training and clinical skills are especially encouraged to apply, as this role offers the opportunity to support our clinical workflow across service lines spanning weight management, neurology, sleep medicine, and longevity care. Front Desk Duties Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and set the tone for an excellent visit. Manage scheduling across appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations using Athena. Handle incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, answering inquiries and routing calls appropriately. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; collect copays and process patient payments. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in full compliance with HIPAA. Provide clerical support including scanning, filing, data entry, and correspondence.
Clinical / Medical
Assistant Duties (as applicable) Room patients, record vitals, and document chief complaints and histories accurately. Prepare and stock exam rooms; maintain a clean, compliant clinical environment. Coordinate prescriptions, prior authorizations, and referrals between front and back office. Preferred Certification & Experience Medical Assistant certification preferred 1-2 years of clinical medical assistant or medical office experience in an outpatient or multispecialty setting preferred. Hands-on experience with an EHR/EMR system; familiarity with Athenahealth strongly preferred (experience with Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar also valued). Proficiency in medical terminology and health information management. Working knowledge of insurance verification and medical administrative processes. Preferred Skills Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on satisfaction and discretion. Bilingual ability is highly desirable to serve our diverse patient population. Solid computer skills, including typing proficiency and comfort with Microsoft Office. Ability to juggle multiple priorities professionally in a high-volume environment.
