Job Description

The creation of the New York Eye Institute came about when Dr. Ayman Z. Matta joined Dr. David Langerman at the Langerman Eye Institute in 2004, bringing to the practice his experience and training in anterior segment, cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. Medical Front Desk Coordinator We are looking for a Medical Front Desk Coordinator to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. As a coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for our office. You will welcome patients and greet patients. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. To be successful as a Medical Front Desk Coordinator, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to work with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. Ultimately, a Coordinator's duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes patients positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards. Must be reliable. Responsibilities Greet and welcome patients as soon as they arrive at the office Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls Intake all insurance information/demographics in an accurate manner. Must check eligibility Must be able to collect copayments coinsurance deductibles Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures) Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email Receive, sort and distribute keep track daily mail/deliveries Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock Update doctors calendar and schedule meetings Arrange travel and accommodations, for the physician Keep inventory Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role Hands-on experience with office equipment Professional attitude and appearance Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
