Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and personable Dental Receptionist/Insurance Coordinator with at least two years of experience in a front dental office setting. The ideal candidate will excel in managing patient interactions, insurance processes, and administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while supporting patients' dental care journeys efficiently. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify patient information, and schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and follow up on outstanding payments utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Review and update patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality. Assist patients with insurance questions, explain treatment plans, and facilitate billing procedures including medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10). Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handle appointment rescheduling, and coordinate patient intake efficiently. Perform administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Support clinic operations by managing medical collection processes, documentation review, and ensuring accurate billing and coding practices. Skills Proven experience as a dental receptionist or insurance coordinator with at least two years in a front office environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and office management procedures. Familiarity with dental practice management software including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar systems; experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Meditech is preferred. Proficiency in medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and medical collection processes. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple software platforms efficiently. Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Bilingual capabilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations; clinic experience is highly valued. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information management practices.
