Medical/Optical Office Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical/Optical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient service. Your responsibilities will include managing patient intake, basic clinical procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting both medical and optical services. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner. Schedule patient appointments. Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy. Handle incoming calls, inquires, and requests. Assist with insurance verification and billing processes. Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers. Support clinical staff with various administrative tasks. Willingness to perform Optometric Technician duties after training provided.

Skills :

Prior experience in a medical office setting or clinic environment is highly preferred. Experience with medical billing and coding is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages. Basic math skills for retail transactions or inventory management within optical sales are desirable. Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
