Job Title:
Front Desk Receptionist -
Dental Practice Position Overview:
We are seeking a capable and experienced Front Desk Receptionist to oversee administrative operations and manage front desk responsibilities in a busy dental specialty practice. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with dental insurance, billing, and office management, and the ability to efficiently coordinate all aspects of daily front office workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries. Verify dental insurance eligibility, obtain breakdowns of benefits, and accurately calculate patient copayments efficiently. Process insurance claims, post payments, review explanation of benefits (EOBs), and manage billing, collections, refunds, and patient account ledgers. Oversee and maintain accurate patient records, insurance documentation, and financial reports. Coordinate scheduling to ensure optimal patient flow and efficient provider schedules. Communicate effectively with referring dental offices to ensure proper case coordination. Oversee vendor relations, manage office supply inventory, and coordinate with service providers. Assist with training new team members on office procedures and protocols. Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning, filing, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in dental or medical office management strongly preferred. Proficiency in dental insurance verification, billing, and financial coordination required. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional phone etiquette required. Experience with dental practice management software is preferred. Familiarity with insurance claim processing, EOB interpretation, and financial reporting.
