Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. The hours are Monday and Tuesday 7:00am - 3:00pm and Friday 7:00am-12:00pm. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system Medent Verify patient insurance coverage through insurance verification processes, including Medicare and Medicaid programs. Schedule appointments accurately Maintain organized medical records by filing documents correctly and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness. Assist with phone etiquette by managing multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide patient support. Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as intake procedures, updating care plans, and reviewing documentation for accuracy. Ensure compliance with health information management standards and confidentiality protocols in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Perform office management duties including filing, data entry, typing reports, and maintaining a clean and organized front desk area. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office support role; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR system Medent Excellent computer skills Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple phone lines and communicate professionally with patients and staff. Ability to review medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and organization of medical records. Prior experience in insurance verification, medical collection processes, or hospital environments is advantageous.
