  • $19 per Hour Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support within a busy Radiology Department.
The ideal candidate will coordinate patient scheduling, maintain accurate records, assist with patient registration and insurance processes, and support physicians and clinical staff to ensure efficient departmental operations and exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Provide administrative and secretarial support to physicians and radiology staff. Answer incoming telephone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries regarding department services and procedures. Schedule patients for radiology appointments, consultations, follow-up visits, imaging procedures, and specialized treatments. Coordinate appointment scheduling and maintain accurate patient calendars within designated healthcare systems. Initiate and track insurance authorizations and pre-certifications as required. Complete patient registration and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information. Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate. Enter, update, and maintain patient records in electronic medical record systems. Prepare correspondence, reports, and other departmental documents as needed. Maintain organized office records and filing systems. Assist with front-desk operations and provide coverage for other administrative staff when necessary. Deliver professional customer service to patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience Three (3) to five (5) years of secretarial experience required. Minimum two (2) years of secretarial experience in a healthcare or medical setting required. Prior Medical Secretary experience within a Radiology Department required. Radiology scheduling experience required. Skills & Competencies Demonstrated typing proficiency of 75 words per minute. Strong computer literacy, including word processing, presentation software, and electronic scheduling systems. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and staff at all levels. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Positive attitude with a commitment to professionalism and teamwork. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
