Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations in a dental clinic, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in OpenDental software systems (or willing to learn) and a solid understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process. Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively. Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with professionalism and courtesy. Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy of medical records. Assist in dental billing and coding tasks. Support the dental team with clerical duties including filing, typing, and maintaining office supplies. Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns and facilitating care plans as needed. Experience Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist is preferred bur no mandatory. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures or willing to learn is essential Proficiency in using OpenDental or willing to learn. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite proficiency. Experience with multi-line phone systems and excellent phone etiquette. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication. Spanish is preferred. Knowledge of dental coding, dental collection processes, and insurance verification is beneficial. A background in clinic experience will be an advantage.
