Job Description

Join our growing podiatry practice as a Lead Receptionist / Surgical Coordinator. We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and patient-focused individual to oversee front office operations while coordinating surgical scheduling and insurance authorizations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both patient interaction and administrative healthcare responsibilities. Position Summary The Lead Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for patients and helps ensure the smooth daily operation of our busy podiatry office. In addition to traditional front desk duties, this role is responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic studies, procedures, and surgeries, as well as coordinating surgical scheduling and communication with patients, hospitals, and insurance companies.
Responsibilities:
Front Desk Operations Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries Schedule and confirm appointments Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information Manage patient flow and assist with daily office operations Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, faxes, and medical records requests Surgical & Authorization Coordination Obtain prior authorizations for imaging studies, procedures, and surgeries Coordinate surgical scheduling with hospitals, surgery centers, and providers Communicate pre-operative instructions and requirements to patients Track authorization approvals, denials, and appeals as needed Ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and timely Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, insurance companies, and surgical facilities Leadership Duties Help maintain efficient workflows and office procedures Troubleshoot scheduling and patient service issues Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment Qualifications Previous medical office experience required Prior authorization and insurance verification experience preferred Surgical scheduling experience strongly preferred Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and demeanor Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Paid time off Health insurance benefits (if applicable) Supportive team environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement If you are a motivated healthcare professional who enjoys patient interaction, organization, and coordinating care, we encourage you to apply and become an important part of our team.
