Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced and dependable Medical Receptionist to support a busy specialty healthcare practice located in the Greater Philadelphia Region. This Medical Receptionist contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming patient experience while keeping front office operations organized and efficient. The role calls for strong communication skills, confidence in handling scheduling and registration tasks, and the ability to work closely with both patients and internal care teams in a fast-paced clinical setting.   • Welcome patients and visitors professionally, providing timely assistance at the front desk and helping create a positive first impression.
  • Arrange, update, and confirm patient appointments while balancing provider availability and office scheduling needs.
  • Gather and validate demographic details, insurance information, and other registration data to support accurate patient access processes.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date records within practice systems to ensure reliable administrative documentation.
  • Partner with clinical and office staff to support smooth patient flow and address day-to-day front desk needs.
  • Manage check-in activities and guide patients through routine intake steps in an organized and courteous manner.
  • Handle general reception duties, including responding to inquiries and directing patients to the appropriate resources or team members. Requirements Other requirements for the Medical Receptionist position include and are not limited to:
  • Prior experience in a medical front desk, patient access, or healthcare administrative role.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule appointments within a medical office or similar clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare office systems and electronic registration or documentation tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy practice setting with changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Experience in a specialty practice such as orthopedics, physical therapy, imaging, surgery center, or urgent care is preferred.
