Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient service and supporting efficient clinic operations. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service with professional phone etiquette and friendly demeanor Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including intake documentation review and updating medical records Handle multi-line phone systems, direct calls appropriately, and respond promptly to patient inquiries Maintain accurate filing of medical records, ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and support health information management tasks Support clinic operations by managing appointment reminders, coordinating care plans, and performing general clerical duties such as data entry using Microsoft Office or other office software Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred, especially in dental or hospital clinics Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing practices Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Athenahealth is essential Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and office management software Demonstrated ability to handle insurance verification processes accurately and efficiently Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone manner and strong communication abilities Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality This position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a compassionate healthcare team while advancing their administrative expertise.
