Job Description
Our busy Otolaryngology [ENT] Practice is looking for a positive, customer-oriented, self-motivated individual to join our team as an Appointment Scheduler. Our Appointment Schedulers are a vital part in the daily operations of our company, ensuring that our patients receive the care they need from our caregiving team. This position is located in our Livonia administration office, providing support to all of our 6 clinic locations with scheduling otolaryngology [ear, nose, throat] appointments. You will work in person until you are fully trained and then work remote from your home. A minimum of two years prior experience as a scheduler in a hospital or other health care setting is required. Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients
Verify patient information and update records as necessary
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient appointment scheduling
Utilize medical office software, such as Athena and Epic, to manage patient appointments and records
Skills:
2 years of previous experience in medical appointment scheduling is required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in using computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft and Google products
Familiarity with medical terminology and ENT [ear nose, throat] procedures is a plus
Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Knowledge of patient service principles and practices
