Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline clinic operations, facilitate effective communication, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and prioritize patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multiple-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization and verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection tasks. Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and correctness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support office management duties such as filing, faxing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while handling inquiries related to appointments, billing, or general clinic information. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation review and care plan updates. Use computer skills effectively in Microsoft Office applications to generate reports or correspondence as needed. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office environment is preferred but not required Familiarity with EMR/EHR system eClinicalWorks is a plus Experience in insurance verification, Medicare processes, and medical collection practices is advantageous. Strong clerical skills including typing (10 key typing), filing, multi-line phone handling, and appointment scheduling are necessary. Previous clinic or dental office experience enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and compliance at all times. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
