Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the frontline ambassador for our clinic, ensuring smooth administrative operations, accurate documentation, and excellent patient service. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment while maintaining efficient office workflows. Responsibilities Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and clinic flow using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems. Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the electronic medical record Obtain and verify referrals and prior authorizations as needed Schedule and communicate appointment information and preparation instructions to patients Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures for Medicare, private insurers, and other payers Coordinate with hospitals, imaging centers, physicians, and other healthcare providers Scan, fax, and upload medical records and other documents Prepare and review medical documentation, including care plans, medical records, and billing information Handle front desk duties such as answering multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and greeting patients warmly Support medical billing processes by collecting payments, following up on outstanding balances, and managing collections efficiently Maintain organized filing of medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Strong computer, typing, and organizational skills Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Exceptional patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and compassionate communication abilities Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
