Our specialties include ophthalmology and spine procedures performed in a state-of-the-art outpatient surgical environment. The Business Office Associate (BOA) serves as the first point of contact for patients, physicians, and visitors while supporting the daily operations of the surgery center. This position is responsible for patient registration, scheduling support, medical records management, financial transactions, and maintaining a positive patient experience throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties Specific job duties include the following: Patient Registration & Front Office Operations Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation. Register patients accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Collect copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Answer and direct incoming telephone calls appropriately. Medical Records & Administrative Support Scan, file, and maintain patient records. Ensure all required documentation is received and accurately entered into the medical record. Process medical records requests according to facility policies. Maintain organized and accurate office files and reports. Customer Service Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, physicians, and staff. Address patient concerns and questions professionally. Contribute to a positive and welcoming environment. Compliance & Quality Adhere to all ASC policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings. Maintain knowledge of current insurance, registration, and scheduling processes. Ensure all required documentation is received and accurately entered into the medical record. Process medical records requests according to facility policies. Requirements The right candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:
Minimum of one year in a medical office or front office environment
Documentation skills
Dependability and punctuality
Professional demeanor and appearance
Organization and attention to detail
Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Excellent phone/fax skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
High school diploma/GED
College degree is preferred M-F 8am to 4:30pm.
No weekends, call and all major holidays off.
