Job Description

Lowcountry Eye Specialists is currently accepting resumes for a full time position with our front office team. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering multi-line phone system, scheduling clinic or surgery appointments, verifying insurance, checking patients in and out, collecting co-payments, scanning medical records, fulfilling medical record requests and requesting medical clearances. The preferred candidate will have medical office experience (preferably ophthalmology or optometry), have a good understanding of basic ophthalmic terminology, working knowledge of current HIPAA and OSHA policies and procedures, and a good understanding of South Carolina medical insurance plans, however we are willing to train a highly motivated candidate. Prior experience scheduling elective surgeries would be an asset. Candidate must possess strong computer skills (Windows 10, MS Office 365 etc.), be experienced with Practice Management and/or Electronic Health Records software, and be comfortable using office equipment such as printers, scanners, copiers etc. Excellent patient care is our top priority and we are looking for a top performer who takes pride in the quality of their work and has a proven track record for excellence. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to multitask and work as part of a team is essential. Full time position is from Monday thru Friday typically 35+ hours a week.
