Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a self-motivated, reliable medical receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing front desk operations. Your expertise in medical administrative support, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) systems will help streamline clinic workflows and enhance patient care experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the medical practice with a focus on exceptional patient service and accurate documentation. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service; answering and returning phone calls, maintaining professional phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems Schedule patient appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with collection procedures Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all documentation review and data entry are completed efficiently, assist with referral processes Maintain and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information, updating demographic data, and explaining clinic policies Assist coworkers as needed Support clinical staff as needed and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers Skills Experience in EMR systems for scheduling, documentation review, and record management preferred Excellent customer service and organizational skills Experience with insurance verification processes preferred 1 year of prior medical office experience is preferred Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards preferred
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
